Joel Houghton, an American who invented the first dishwasher way back in 1850. It was a wooden machine with a wheel that had to be turned by hand. This action to clean spray water on dishes. Joel even if it patented.

By the year 1950, the dishwasher was a normal Kitchen utility. In the 1970s dishwashers were very common in the homes in America.
